A Forest of Holiday Cards

Holiday cards--hand-carved stamp
Last week I carved a couple of tree stamps. I decided this one would be perfect for the front of this year's card. Usually I order photo cards but this year I just don't feel like it. For my own amusement, I added a salamander to the back of each card.

This is the other tree stamp. (Oh, the shadowy taken-at-night photo!!) I think it will work nicely on a gift tag or plain brown wrapping.

These were carved from sketches, rather quickly, last week when I was feeling prickly and needed to sit quietly by myself and make something--and my three-year-old, thankfully, cooperated with that plan.

What are you planning for holiday cards this year?

(You can see lots more creative folk here!)

Beautiful! Love those trees, and the salamander is such a sweet personal touch. I keep putting off the picture of the kids. I have cards, but I just don't want to go through the whole bit of getting them dressed and posing them, even for a super informal outside picture. It's such a drag.

Love your cards... there is nothing better than hand stamped cards I say!!! My little man and I had a great time stamping xmas cards, though I had to break it down into a few days as he would lose interest after doing about 10cards :)

they are lovely! A nice personal touch!

for the first time in years I'm not doing cards this year. My energies are focused elsewhere this year but I have made up some calendars for family - they are called 'A Year of Willem and Alice' and will make everyone happy I'm sure!

I like your handmade cards, very natural, yet Christmassy looking. I'd love to try carving my own stamps but not sure where to buy blocks of rubber from, any ideas?
